Time, by far the one driving force behind everything we do. Through time we organize our day, the events in our life, even how we design.
In my experience, time is essential to the design process. Why? Not only why, but how? How is time a part of design?
In my experience as a graphic designer, I have found time to be the one common element above all others. It is constraining, it sets the tone. Many projects are not necessarily created to only curtain specifications, but to a deadline. This deadline can force us to think fast, work quicker, and pay more attention to details we might not notice.
As I thought about this concept, I realized just how important it was to me. I deal with time in so many ways that I never gave it a second thought till I created a name for my site.
The word time originates from the latin words "Tempus temporis", meaning time, stage, epoch, or era. As I studied this word and each of is definitions, I came to the conclusion that not only is time everywhere and apart of everything, but it becomes my promise to others.
It is not unknown that in the working world a customer wants their job on time and done accurately. As a graphic designer, I feel this to be the epitome of a positive attitude and the way I wish to be represented. I want my client to receive the best work on time. I want my client to be informed as of to what is going on throughout the design process so that they are 100% satisfied. Not only this, but I want the client to return again and again, returning for that satisfaction each and every time.
Thus, Tempus Design was born. Through these words I express my goal and my pledge to my clients.
